How to find working Japanese songs in Kumyoung's site

by datenshi on April 26, 2016 18:30

UPDATE: As of August 2016, Golden House Family KTV no longer uses KY machines and have switched to TJ Media

The second trial session is just around the corner. To help you prepare for the event, here's a quick guide to finding songs that you can sing in Golden House Family KTV.

Step 1: Use http://www.ikaraoke.kr/, Kumyoung's official search site.

It's as simple as that.

Well.. not really.

There are 2 things to take note when looking for songs using that site. First is that even the latest KY machines (the one we'll be using in the session) go only up to May 2015 and this can't be updated (blame the lack of interest in the local market). Here's an example:

In this list of ONE OK ROCK songs, you can sing Heartache but you won't be able to sing Cry Out or Clock Strikes.

The other thing you have to take note is that some of the older songs are no longer present in recent machines. Songs that are still around are marked as "ALL":

In this Naruto list, you can still sing GO!!! but Haruka Kanata is no longer available.

This check isn't 100% accurate, though, as some songs like Ding! Dong! Dang! are present even though they're only marked as "F".

Have trouble reading Japanese text? Searching for FLOW but the site returns "Flower"? Proceed to step 2.

Step 2: Use this site. You can also ask us to look for songs using this page.

Hope this quick guide helps. See you at the upcoming sessions!
